Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the good news?

There is a lot of good news, actually. Particularly if you are a Weekday pass person. For 2022-2023, the Weekday pass has been enhanced in the following ways:

    1. Seven-day-a-week access for golf from June through September;
    2. Reduction of the use fee, from $18.75 to $18 for a club-owned cart, or from $16.50 to $15 for a personal cart/scooter;
    3. Addition of a Couples option (your spouse or significant other receives effectively a 40% discount on their pass)
    4. Inclusion of seven-day-a-week practice facility access; and
    5. Reduction in the number of brownout days which apply to Weekday passholders; and
    6. Accompanied Guests (up to 3) receive the Trilogy Resident Rate

There is a modest price increase on the Weekday pass, but it is less than half of the current inflation rate. Overall, we think that Weekday passholders should feel very good about the changes being made for 2022-2023.

  • What is the less good news?

Admittedly, the Weekday Pass changes are more attractive than the Full Week Pass changes. That said, the Full Week pass continues to be a great value for those who prioritize access over cost. From a “negative” change standpoint, here are the major ones:

    1. The cost of the Single Full Week pass is staying relatively stable, with a 4% increase. That said, the Couples Full Week pass – which offers the highest potential usage – is going up by $465, or nearly 10%.
    2. Although the total number of brownout days is remaining the same, some of the brownout days are shifting from the weekdays to the weekends.
    3. There could be additional competition for tee time access on the weekends in the summer because of the additional privileges provided to Weekday passholders from June through September.

On the good side, all passes will benefit from the reduction of the use fee, from $18.75 to $18 for a club-owned cart, or from $16.50 to $15 for a personal cart/scooter. The price increase on the Single version is well below the current inflation rate.

As it relates to all passes, a small percentage of users may see a net cost increase because of the elimination of the Use Fee maximum. That said, the reduction of the Use Fee itself will mitigate this somewhat.

  • Are you trying to encourage people to purchase the Weekday Pass versus the Full Week Pass?

No, we want everyone to buy whichever pass is best for them. When we surveyed the passholders last season, an overwhelming majority of users prioritized price over access. In result, we have built the product above with this in mind. The Weekday Passes are the best option if you are willing to adjust when you play to save some money. And the Full Week Passes are the best option if you want the most flexibility, even if it costs you a bit more.

  • Are there any limits on the number of passes sold?

Yes, with an important caveat. If you have a pass currently, you will be able to renew with the equivalent product. However, we will not be issuing any new Full Week Passes to those who did not have a Full Week Pass in 2021-2022. As of now, there is not a limit on the number of Weekday passes available.

There are no limits on the Flex Pass or the Practice Facility Pass.

  • Are the tenure discounts still in place?

Yes. The discount requires consecutive years as an enrollee combined with enrollment in 2021/2022. Discount amounts to 5% for 1-3 years of tenure, 7.5% for 4-6 years of tenure, and 10% for 7+ years of consecutive enrollment.

  • Are prices going up?

Not everything is apples-to-apples, but some products are going up in price, and some products are going down in price. For example, the Weekday Pass is going up by roughly 4%, but it now includes full week access throughout June-September, full week access to the practice facility, and fewer weekday brownout days. The Use Fees are going down by $.75 and $1.50 respectively (club carts and personal carts), but the maximum Use Fee provision is going away. Overall, it’s probably fair to say that that total cost is going up slightly.

  • What is considered a weekday, weekend, and holiday?

Weekdays are non-holiday Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There are 4 designated holidays throughout the year, which will be treated like a brownout day.  Full details on brownout and holidays are listed below.

  • What is a ‘brownout’ day? Can I see a calendar on when the brownout and holidays are scheduled?

Brownout days have three hours of the tee sheet which are specifically blocked for non-pass play. This block is typically from 9am-noon. The four holidays are treated as brownout days as well. There are 28 such days during the season (including the four holidays), which is one less than last year.

    • Friday, April 7, 2023
    • Saturday, April 8, 2023
    • Sunday, April 9, 2023

Brownout days and times do not affect the tee times that are allocated daily to non-pass play. There is a minimum of 8 such times, daily.

  • Do I have to be a Trilogy resident to purchase one of the passes?

No, but all costs above are increased by 25% for non-residents.

  • What is a ‘Use Fee’? Is it the same as a cart fee? If I walk, am I still required to pay the Use Fee? What is the maximum number of Use Fees for the coming season?

The Use Fee is an access fee and not a cart fee. It applies to every round played. Players should expect to pay the Use Fee whether they walk ($15), ride with a facility cart or Phat scooter ($18), ride with a personal cart or Phat scooter ($15) or take a push/pull cart ($15). These rates are lower than the 2021-2022 pricing of $18.75 and $16.50 respectively.

Historically, there has been a maximum number of Use Fees for each pass, but that is no longer in place.

  • Which items are subject to sales tax?

All passes and use fees are subject to sales tax.

  • What happens if I am not able to make my scheduled tee time?

Please call us to cancel and know that we require a minimum 24-hour cancellation notice for all reservations. If a cancellation notice is not provided or is received less than 24 hours prior to the tee time, a no-show fee of $25 for the number of players booked will be billed to the Member who reserved the tee time.

  • Why is there a ‘no-show’ fee if I have already paid for my pass?

Our goal is to provide as much tee sheet access as possible each day. By releasing reservations as early as possible, we can offer those tee times to passholders who may not have been able to book that day already.

  • Will I be charged a cancellation fee if there is severe weather?

Absolutely not. We still would appreciate you contacting the Golf Shop to notify us that you are not going to utilize your time, but in cases of inclement weather conditions, including rain, electrical storms, winds more than 20 mph, or temperatures below 45°, the cancellation fees will be waived.

  • What is a House Account?

The Club provides all passholders charging privileges known as “House Accounts.” House Accounts are the most convenient way to enjoy your golf experience. You will be assigned a House Number (like a member number) and all your transactions for golf and merchandise will be charged to that account. Each month, your account balance will need to be paid. If you register for ACH (linked to a checking account), there are no utilization fees for using a House Account. If you would prefer to use a credit card to pay your account balances, a $10 monthly fee will apply.

  • Are there any additional fees for any programs?

There are no fees for cash, check, or ACH transactions. For Annual Passes and Flex Passes purchased with a credit card, a $125 Convenience Fee will be charged. See the section on ‘House Accounts’ for information on monthly processing for usage fees.

  • Is standby play still available on holidays and brownouts?

Going forward, standby rates for Weekday and Full Week Pass holders will be the Trilogy Resident Rate and no additional discounts will be available.

  • What if I am new to the community? Is there a proration if I miss part of the year?

A one-time proration for the weekday pass is available for those new to the Trilogy community.

  • Can I use my Flex pass for 9-hole rounds?

Yes, passes may be used for 9-hole play. That said, the determination of pass value is subject to the course availability of 9-hole rates, which, generally, are only available 3 hours before sunset.

  • Can I use the south tee of the Practice Facility?

Weekday, Full Week, and Practice Facility Pass holders may use the south end of the practice facility. Flex Pass holders are not afforded access to the South Practice Facility.

  • Can I return my pass or gift it to someone else if I’m not going to use it?

We apologize, but passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you purchase a Flex Pass, you can share it with any immediate family member (father, mother, brother, sister, son, or daughter).

  • What happens if I get injured, ill, or am unable to play golf?

We of course understand that things happen in life that are out of your control, and we want to you to be able to enjoy golf at Vistancia.

If you are unable to utilize your Premium Players Pass for a medical reason (must be substantiated by a letter from a medical professional), the club will offer a one-time discount towards the purchase of your next Premium Players Pass. The discount amount will be based on the base price of your pass prorated to take into account the number of months that have already passed. Please read below for additional restrictions:

    • A passholder will not be eligible for any pass purchases for the duration of that season/year.
    • An already prorated pass is not eligible for additional discount/refund.
    • Prorated refunds are not available after March 1st.

Please note that any abuse of the medical waiver will initiate an immediate forfeiture of all remaining pass privileges and carry the potential of a prohibition from the purchase of future passes.

Flex Passes are eligible for 50% of the remaining value to be credited towards the purchase of another Flex Pass in the next year, provided purchase is made within 14 days of expiration.

Practice Facility Passes are not eligible for refunds for any reason.

  • How do I pay for a Pass?

Once you have filled out your online form and signed off on the pass agreement, you can visit the Golf Shop at your next opportunity for payment.
